MAGGIE and her brother were found tied to a tree when they were appox. 4 months old. Both had been neglected and abused but it did little to dampen their spirits once they got food in their bellies and love in their worlds. MAGGIE'S a very special puppy. A big puppy but still a puppy. Our Vet. thinks MAGGIE's a Black Lab/Heinz 57 mix. Photo's don't do her beauty justice. Her coat is that glossy water-shedding Black of a Lab's with Brindle accents on her legs, stomach, booty and face. MAGGIE will probably stay a medium sized dog; the size she is now because of her small feet which are also webbed like a Lab's. She is extremely obiedient and intelligent. She's VERY quiet. So when she does bark or growl it's to alert to danger to her loved ones. And we're not talking about the Mailman either. She loves everyone you do. MAGGIE gets alone famously with other dogs - any size, breed or gender. She's all about playing peacefully. If a fuss breaks out at the Lafrenier Dog Park where she's a regular she'll retreat and try to hide. MAGGIE also likes CATS - although most of them rebuff her exuberant attempts to play she does have one good Feline Friend named Freddy. MAGGIE is Crate trained, housebroken and LOVES to ride in the car PLAY with her chew toys, you and other Dogs: fetch, tug-of war, catch me if you can etc. MAGGIES FUN! She's current on her shots including Bortadella [Kennel Cough]. She's heartworm neg., spayed, and has been microchipped with a HOME AGAIN chip. She's also been given monthly doses of "Heartguard Plus" and "Advantage"; as well as wormed with "Panacure". MAGGIE is a healthy, happy puppy that needs a home that's as special as she is. After the pleasure of her company for the past few months we suggest a home where she will have a four legged or human companion most if not all of the time. She does well if left alone in her Crate; but she has such a loyal, intelligent and energetic personality that it would be a waste of what she can bring into new companions life . MAGGIE; like all young dogs needs lots of exercise. She's a strong dog but she does'nt know it. She thinks she's a lap dog and loves big hugs along with her quiet petting times. So regular walking, Dog Park visits and/or plenty of room to run, ruff and tumble is best for her. She's friendly and submissive with other dogs and people. MAGGIE will be the most loyal, loving, protective companion for the right person or family. This sweet girl deserves the very best! This fantastic dog was once scared of her own shadow because of what she suffered before we found her; but because of the love, devotion and effort's of a fairly diverse group of people she's put all that behind her and is the girl she was meant to be. Simply wonderful! She actually wen't to the St. Patricks Day Parade on Metairie Road and was the STAR everywhere we wen't
